Getting Out!

As you know, Lee and I have enjoyed getting out and experiencing our city...or mostly eating our way through it. With a newborn, that can be a little more challenging. Luckily, we are within walking distance of so much, so we are still able to indulge a bit. That being said, I have been very intimidated by the carrier, therefore resort to the handy stroller. This weekend we were determined to figure out the carrier and hope Zella was okay with it. We loaded everyone (including the dogs) in the car and drove to Golden to walk along the Clear Creek trail. It was paved in case we needed to use the stroller, but she ended up passing out soon after we put her in. It was a successful afternoon in Golden and made me more confident the next time we want to use the carrier.
I swear she is in there.

This weekend was also fun because we got to show off Zella to some of my Colorado friends. A few of my favorite coworkers hosted a Sip and See. Though I don't have many pictures, it was so nice to have Zella meet so many nice people. She was on her very best behavior and can't wait to see all of them again.
Getting ready for the party.

She was fussy until Stacey held her. :)

Zella loves Aunt Katie.

Us with two moms-to-be! Aren't they cute?! Zella can't wait for more friends.

Our New Normal

The past couple of weeks have been super fun with Zella. She has been more alert and smiley during the day. We love seeing her little personality come out.

She loves when Daddy makes funny faces and noises.

Z has been enjoying her playmat and occasionally getting a glimpse of her super cute self.

She loves the crinkle sound of the leaves.

Okay, so maybe she hasn't been that alert...a girl has to get her beauty sleep.
First time not in a newborn onesie :(

Can someone please turn out the lights?

She loves to snuggle with this goofy guy. :)

Due Date Twins

Last fall, it was very important to me to meet other soon-to-be moms. I knew maternity leave would be busy, but also kind of lonely without adult interaction. Therefore, I joined a group on Meetup.com in which other women were doing the same thing. Through this site, I have met some very kind and friendly people. One of those moms had the same due date as me. We kept in touch and Zella was born just two days before her baby girl, Mabel. Now that both moms are feeling more recovered and the weather is getting better, Mabel and Zella have enjoyed going on walks at the park and discussing the latest onesie fashions. ;) These girls are too cute, and we can't wait until they are running around really playing with each other at the park together.

We LOVE our baby :)

We get asked to send baby pics from several friends and family, so here are a few more...
Visiting Aunt Katie and Uncle Van

So bright!

We're out of milk?!

Just like her mama.

So serious.

Go Royals!

Sleep!

I hope me writing this doesn't jinx anything, but Zella slept 6.5 hours last night before waking to feed! I feel like a whole new person.

Who doesn't like to lounge around?

So far we have gotten pretty lucky, because Zella enjoys her beauty rest and relaxing with Mom and Dad. We are hoping this continues.

Loves to sleep in.

Afternoon snuggles

Gotta watch my favorite show, Scandal. ;)

Goodnight.

Must LOVE Dogs...and babies

Lee and I adore our pups, and when we found out we were expecting, there was definitely some nervous feelings about how they would do around a little delicate person. Both dogs have not enjoyed toddlers in the past, so we were really hoping they would feel differently about Zella. Both Penny and Lumen were curious from day one. Since then, Penny hasn't shown much interest unless she is getting a treat for following a direction or getting some old milk spit up. Gross! Lumen has really taken on the protector role. If she hears a whimper, she will check in on Z. They are just adorable together!

One Month Young

Zella is officially one month old. Time sure does fly by! She is such a sweet and funny little girl who loves to eat. As of Monday, she was 8 lbs and 8 oz. We can't wait to see how she changes and grows during month two!
