V & T

We love visitors, but especially when it's Vicki and Teisha. These ladies are two of my oldest friends, so it was so nice for them to come visit and meet Miss Zella. The weather was gorgeous, so we made sure to get outside get those steps in.

Great company, great food, and great conversation. It was absolutely what we needed. Love you girls!

Miss Zella got too hot. :(

In other news...

This little babe is too funny...
I be chillin'. Do you see it? Ha!

10 weeks today.

She loves naps like her momma.

We love our days together.

She doesn't love bows, but she's too cute!

Passport photo or mugshot?!

Cheese!

Snuggly and ready to party!

Shots!

The day had come for Zella to get her 2 month immunizations. She was doing great. So smiley. So happy. 10 pounds 14 ounces of perfection. That was until she heard another baby crying from those dreaded shots. She became sad and knew she was next. It all went by so quickly, but Z was quite upset. Poor baby. Strawberry Shortcake bandaids made those chunky thighs a little sweeter. She slept well that night, but we aren't looking forward to next time.
This lady is so nice...

That lady was so mean!

My First Mother's Day

Last weekend, we had nothing on the calendar and I couldn't have been happier. It was Mother's Day Weekend, and I thought it wasn't on Lee's radar. It started Friday night with a delivery. A vacuum! I was actually excited because I had been saying we needed a new vacuum for some time now, but also slightly disappointed...it was a vacuum...for Mother's Day. :/ Woke up Saturday with Lee asking me what I wanted to do. Ugh! Really? He didn't have anything planned? I was kind of shocked. I knew we had plans with a friend in the afternoon, so I was surprised when he said I had ten minutes to be ready much earlier in the day. We drove around for a bit before he dropped me off to get an hour massage. Woohoo! An hour of relaxation! What a treat. As I was leaving, I was greeted with some flowers that he had left inside my jacket. It was super sweet. The rest of the weekend, we spent as a family. Simply perfect.

2 Months Old

We can't believe it's been two months. She continues to be more fun and is sleeping much better. We just started getting her more into a bedtime routine this past week, and last night she slept from 8 pm to 8:45 am while only briefly waking at 5 am to eat. Happy Mother's Day to me!
Within the next month, Zella gets to meet some of our friends from Kansas City. We are all looking forward to it!
Death Stare

We have such kind and talented friends. Thank you Lindsay Tarwater for the beautiful blanket! Zella loves it!

Happy 2 Months to me!

Going Places...

We enjoy traveling and are already planning a trip to Cabo (Congrats, Brandon and Cliah)! Therefore, we need to get Zella her own passport. We dressed her in a very cute sweater from Aunt Natalie and were off to the post office. As we showed up, it was clear we were not applying for her passport that day. It would have taken hours to get through the line. We called it a wash and went out for Mexican food.
Love this sweater!

Zella  had another big day with me when I was the Mystery Reader for my 3rd grade classes. When we showed up, the kids were so excited to see us both. I didn't realize how much I miss them too! They loved her. I can't wait to visit again.

And last but not least, we had a group of 3rd grade boys over to watch Star Wars, eat pizza, and make sundaes with their teachers. Zella made an appearance in the beginning, but those boys were exhausting, so she retreated to bed around 8 pm. ;)
Great group of kids
And now a few pics from this past week or so:
Too tired to stay awake for a diaper change.

Giving Mom a smirk.

Definitely a morning person
